BFI Training
Canyonland Flyers also offers BFI (Basic Flight Instruction) training,
so that you can certify to train others. Our trike training includes up
to 10 hours of in in the air training, additional hours of ground school,
weather forecasting, communication techniques, emergency landing, and
some airport traffic patterns. Training exceeds the federal aviation regulations
as required. After this, all that is required is a checkride and a signature
from a USUA AFI (advanced flight instructor). |
Flight Training
Canyonland flyers Pilot flight training program consists of approximately
8-10 hrs of dual instruction flights with our instructor and canyonland
trike. There is also an additional 5-6 hrs of ground school. The cost
is $80.00/hr air time and $20.00/hr ground school. Books and training
manuals can also be purchashed from us.
Most of your training will be done at the Hurricane airport. That is where
our hanger is located. Ground school, testing, and pre-flight inspections
will be at the airfield. We alsways take each student on a cross country
flight in our training course here in Southern Utah. We are blessed with
high mountains, valleys, canyons, and low deserts, so our students will
become a well rounded pilot. All our aircraft trainers are equiped with
full instruments and radio systems, so you will learn both as part of
your training. since you will be flying in and out of airports, our students
become very competent in airport operations, flight patterns, and radio
systems. You will be flying with other aircrafts & "general aviation."
But not to worry, it's a small airport, and we have it to ourselves most
of the time. It is a great place to learn to fly. |

are committed to taking students after they buy their own trike, up for
test flights to help the student get comfortable with the new aircraft
he/she has purchased. We always test fly every new trike before a customer
ever gets in the seat.
